BCA has a long tradition of providing social activities for older people. These include the weekly Monday Club and occasional special events. In addition the BCA minibus provides transport for other organisations enabling many older people to enjoy a wide variety of clubs, activities and outings.
The Monday afternoon drop in Club began in 1967 and has continued to meet weekly ever since providing an enjoyable afternoon for its members, some of whom have been attending for many years. Weekly activities include Bingo, a raffle, tea and biscuits and the opportunity to meet up with old and new friends. Regular lunches are held and also occasional outings and parties.
The Club meets on Monday afternoons from 1pm – 3pm in the Methodist Church Hall, Eastfield Road, Burnham. The Club welcomes men and women and door to door transport can be arranged on the BCA minibus.

Spring Night Out
In May 2005 BCA and the Lions Club of Burnham joined forces to organise a special night out for older people in Burnham Park Hall. Similar social events, which had been organised in the past with the help of the local Scouts, had always been very popular and tickets sold quickly for the 2005 event.
“A Spring Night Out” was held each May between 2005 and 2011. In 2009 and 2010 we were made very welcome at Burnham Upper School as Burnham Park Hall was being re-built.
In 2011 we returned to Burnham Park Hall where guests enjoyed a delicious meal, entertainment with “Pop goes the Choir” and a mystery raffle. We were delighted to be joined by members of 1st Burnham and Hitcham Scouts who did a great job serving food and drinks.
In 2012 we held a very successful Autumn Supper at Burnham Park Academy. “Elvis” provided the entertainment and a team of students from the Academy worked alongside volunteers from BCA and the Lions Club of Burnham to ensure that everyone had a great evening.
In 2016 BCA were pleased to support Burnham Health Promotion Trust and the Lions Club of Burnham who held the event in Burnham Park Hall. Attendees were entertained by the Germaine School Choir from Chesham.
