Burnham Village Information Point (BVIP)
BVIP is situated within Burnham Library and the information is available whenever the library is open. It is part of Burnham Community Association and run by volunteers.
The emphasis is on local information such as leisure activities, facilities and services, and transport including bus and train timetables.
A complete reference set of Round and About news bulletins is kept, as are the most recent issues for you to take. New residents may like a starter pack of local information.
You can also find details of other organisations that provide help within a wide range of topics, for example, welfare and services for older people. Citizens Advice have a comprehensive website and provide advice by telephone and in person. BVIP have produced a handout about how to contact Citizens Advice and it is reproduced here. This is just one of a series of handouts on display at BVIP along with many other leaflets and flyers.
You are always welcome to call in and browse.
The information point is unmanned for most of the time but displays are designed for self-service. Volunteers attend for about 1 -1 ½ hours several times a week to re-stock, tidy and update information and they will be pleased to help with enquiries. Times of attendance vary according to availability of volunteers and current times are shown on the notice by the desk. If anyone needs to speak to a volunteer, a message may be left by telephone 01628 605975, by email firstname.lastname@example.org or in the message book, and a volunteer will contact them.
