“Citizens Advice” used to be called “Citizens Advice Bureau” but the abbreviation CAB is still in common use and appears in some website addresses.
Citizens Advice can advise on almost any matter or signpost to other organisations. Subjects that they deal with include financial matters including Welfare Benefits, debt, tax and utility bills. They can help with neighbour disputes, relationship problems, education and employment issues, transport problems and housing. They give general legal advice but do not act for clients on matters such as court cases or conveyancing. Consumer problems will generally be referred to Citizens Advice Consumer Service.
